Brillo Box

1964: Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts/ARS, New York

As if in direct commentary to the conceptual content of his art as "empty", Warhol created a series of objects that were reproductions of packages on hollow plywood boxes. The message was clear: there was nothing there in this culture.
