Alberti Bass
(from Domenico Alberti, an 18th-century Italian musician who used it in his harpsichord sonatas)

The simplest sort of accompaniment, most commonly used in keyboard music, in which the right hand plays the melody and the left plays a series of broken chords in the following order: lowest, highest, middle, highest.
