1897: The Rodin Museum, Philadelphia

In the final version of this notable work, Rodin decided to clothe Balzac in the monk's robe that the writer had been known to wear. In addition to the constant rearrangement of the drapery, Rodin made several slight modifications of the head in the final rendering.
