1472 Enrolled as a painter in the fraternity of St Luke in Florence
1472 Goes to Florence, where he was the comrade of Leonardo in Verrocchio's studio
1481 Commissioned to paint a series of frescoes in the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican
1485 Becomes the 'honourable citizen of Perugia'
1486 Settles in Florence
1490s Maintains workshops in Florence and Perugia
1499 Raphael joins his studio as a student
1523 Dies in Fontignano, Perugia in February of 'the pest'
