1523 Travels to Rome
1527 Rome is sacked by the armies of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V - Parmigianino flees to Bologna
1531 Returns to Parma
1537 Arrested and imprisoned for failure to complete commissions
1539 Released from prison on the promise that he will complete his commissions. He fails to do so and flees
1540 Dies 5 March in Casal Maggiore
