1896 Born 29 December in Chihuahua City, Mexico
1908 Studies at the Franco-English College
1911 Leads a student strike at the San Carlos Academy
1913 Conspires with a group of students and workers to unseat Victoriano Huerta
1918 Organises a group called the Congress of Soldier Artists
1919 Travels to Spain
1921 Publishes a magazine called Vida Americana
1922 Returns to Mexico
1923 Elected secretary general of Mexico's Revolutionary Painters, Sculptors and Engravers Union
1924 Together with Diego Rivera and Javier Guerrero starts a weekly called El Machete
1926 Elected secretary general of the Miners Union and of the Jalisco Workers Federation
1931 Confined to Taxco in a status of internal exile
1932 Expelled from Mexico, Siqueiros spends several months in Los Angeles
1934 Siqueiros welcome again in Mexico
1936 Enlists in the antifascist forces during Spanish Civil War
1939 Returns to Mexico again
1940 Leads an attack on Trotsky's house in Mexico City's Coyoacán suburb
