1717 Received into the Fraglia (Guild)
1719 Marries Cecilia Guardi (sister of the landscape painter Francesco Guardi)
1725 Commissioned for in the Archbishop's Palace at Udine
1730s Painted and frescoes in palaces and villas in and around Milan, Bergamo, Venice, and elsewhere in the Veneto
1740s Completes many commissions for northern Europe and as far away as Russia
1750 The prince-bishop Karl Philip von Greiffenklau commissions him to paint the grand hall of his palace at Würzburg
1755 Elected first President of the Venetian Academy
1762 Charles III, King of Spain, commissions Tiepolo to paint the ceiling of the Throne Room in the Royal Palace
1770 Dies 27 March in Madrid
