1882 Over the next two years, Harding teaches school, studies law, sells insurance, works as a part-time reporter for the Democratic weekly Mirror
1884 Purchases the Marion Daily Star
1889 Suffers exhaustion, retreats to a sanatorium for several weeks
1891 Marries Florence King
1899 Serves in Ohio Senate until 1903
1903 Serves as lieutenant governor of Ohio until 1905
