1810 Promoted to captain

1812 Serves in the War of 1812; receives a brevet promotion to major
1814 Daughter, Sarah, born
1819 Promoted to lieutenant colonel
1820 Two daughters are born, both die in infancy

1832 Serves in the Black Hawk War; promoted to colonel
