The Children's Crusade
The "Children's Crusade" took place in 1212. Two boys - Stephen of Cloyes and Nicholas, a German - went about preaching that children could secure the Holy Land through a miracle. Many thousands of children followed these leaders. Many died on the way, some were sold into slavery, only a few returned to their lands.
