1367 Born 6 January to Edward the Black Prince and Joan "Fair Maid" of Kent
1376 Created Prince of Wales
1377 Succeeds his grandfather, Edward III
1380 The last of the 'continual councils' is dismissed, Richard takes control
1381 Peasant's Revolt (Wat Tyler's Rebellion)
1382 Marries Anne of Bohemia (the sister of Wenceslas of Bohemia)
1387 Led by the Duke of Gloucester, the Lords Appellant control the government
1389 Richard again takes control of the government, William Wykeham is Lord Chancellor
1394 Wife, Anne of Bohemia, dies; Richard II leads an army to reconquer west of Ireland
1396 Marries Isabella of France (daughter of Charles VI)
1397 Lords Appellant, led by Thomas, Duke of Gloucester, try and convict 5 of Richard's advisors of treason. Richard arrests 3 of the 5 Lords Appellant and has them executed. One of the remaining two, who were exiled, was Henry Bolingbroke
1399 Again visits Ireland; on returning is captured, deposed (19 August), and imprisoned in Pontefract Castle
1400 Dies 14 February
