1873 Takes the entrance examination for the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and is accepted
1874 Father dies, Caillebotte inherits a considerable fortune
1874 Helps organize the first Impressionist exhibition in Paris
1875 Floor Scrapers is rejected by the Salon, Caillebotte leaves the Ecole des beaux-arts
1877 Exhibits Paris Street; Rainy Day at the Impressionist exhibition
1894 Dies 21 February, willing his collection of Impressionist works (by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro and Alfred Sisley) to be hung at the Musée du Luxembourg and subsequently in the Louvre
